The Nimba Iron Ore Project

The Nimba Iron Ore Project is ear-marked to be a 10 MTPA iron ore operation in south-east Guinea which will catalyse the region in becoming the world’s third major iron ore producing province, eventually ranking alongside Western Australia and Brazil.

Development Strategy

The first step in our development is to initiate a comprehensive study that builds on all the work carried out to-date and provides an integrated solution with attractive operating costs and development capital across the complex. The resulting Bankable Feasibility Study will then form the basis for future milestones.

NDC will benefit from bi-lateral agreements signed by the Governments of Guinea and Liberia which facilitate access to an existing railway corridor in Liberia.

Further updates on our operational configuration will be provided as we progress the technical work.

Location

The Project is located in close proximity to the borders of Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire, and 67 km from an existing operating railway at Tokadeh in Liberia. From Tokadeh, the existing railway to the Port of Buchanan (265 km away), built by Lamco during the 1970s and currently operated by Arcelor Mittal, will provide a key part of the route for NDC to export its ore globally.
